Power outages in Fort Bend County neighborhoods due to knocked down power lines, Precinct 1 says

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities are reporting power outages in multiple Fort Bend County communities after a truck reportedly hit power lines.

According to the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, there are reported outages in Jordan Ranch, Tamarron, and Firethorne West.

CenterPoint Energy released a statement about the outages, reporting that a truck not affiliated with CenterPoint hit the electrical infrastructure near the 3400 block of Kingsland Boulevard in Brookshire. The truck pulled down telecommunications lines, power lines, and other electrical equipment, which caused an outage that impacted about 5,300 customers.

CenterPoint said that its crews took action to restore customers' power and worked closely with first responders. CenterPoint added that as of 1 p.m., four customers remained without power.
